It's 7:25AM in the Wed-day morning and my body is aching from this nights work...thought I never get back home to chill...I was busted before I even got to work, so tired, I just wanted to go right back to bed...and now my feet hurts and my back is aching every now and then...well, no-one can't tell me that I didn't do "a hard nights work"...
Anyways, it pays to get a good "nights" sleep of at least 7 straight hours, without interruptions, then you can go on for much longer the rest of the day, without getting tired quicker, than if you don't get a good "nights" sleep...which brings us to the following part...
I went to sleep at around 9AM, but I kept waking up all the time, for no reason at all...until the big reason appeared...around noon:ish the phone rings...and it's my girl friend (as in a friend who happens to be a girl, a girl friend, although, sometimes I wish she was my girlfriend, as in, we're togheter for real, but, I'll be her best friend for the time being, as in, for the reminder of my life, unless something unexpected happens, as in, only time will tell) who has some very intresting and great news to tell to me...and, me, still tired, newly awaken, goes from flat zero to 100 in a split second when she tells who's coming to town next years February...The friggin CURE!!!!
Now, my favourite band for time being is The Cure...
so I was like: "Get standing place tickets"...
and she's like: "Duuuuh"...
and I'm like: "Yay"...
and she's like: "Yay"...
And I fell back to sleep...haha...
When I finally woke up I logged on to see if it was only a dream or if everything happened for real...and, there it was...on their official homepage...22 European dates added...and the first one is played in Sweden, Stockholm, February 9:th of 2008...(a Saturday)...and my fears of not getting tickets to the show began to rise...and I tried to get hold of my dear girl friend...and, she was nowhere to be found at...(apparently she was working out or something, spinning I think)...but ,then she finally text-messaged me and told me: "We got tickets...but we have to sit"...at this point I couldn't care too much about if we were standing or sitting, as long as we got in the arena to see The Cure live...
The fact being, The Cure rarely plays small venue shows anymore, but more likely has attended Festival-sized shows the past 10 years...so, it's a real treat to actually see them play venue-shows again...3 hours of extravaganza with Jason Cooper, Porl Thompson, Simon Gallup and last but not least, the carismatic front man of the band itself, Robert Smith...
They have played a very solid set since the return of the former guitarist Porl, 2005...close to each show has looked very much alike, with only a few songs changed from each night to night...although, with the new album arriving soon, around Spring of 2008, you could always hope that they play a song or two off the album...along with all their classics...(I have a feeling though that the setlist will look very much like their "LIVE 2005 DVD" did)...
I had the luck to see The Cure at their Curiosa Festival in Dallas back in 2004...where both Perry Bamonte and Roger O'Donnell still were in the band...and they played lot of songs from their then newly released "The Cure" album as well as a bunch of tracks from the classic "Disintegration" album...I do like their older material though...I mean the really old...Pre-82...Pornography and older...and I do like their new stuff, from Bloodflowers and onward, where they have gone back to the more darker elements in their music...
Man, that's a lot of Cure-ranting at once...
The point being...I'm gonna attend my second Cure show...and this time on home field...
Now, if only Lol Tolhurst would reunite in the present band...*chills*...you just never know...
Enough ranting...for now...
